Sultan Salem al-Naemi and Hussain Saeed Haidan took individual honours in the seventh round of the sixth Longines Hathab Qatar Equestrian Tour season yesterday. At the Qatar Equestrian Federation’s Indoor Arena, al-Naemi won the Small Tour round after completing a flawless routine astride Al Shaqab-owned 10-year-old mare Higgs. Ghanim Nasser al-Qadi (Quick Step) finished second while Mohamed Dhafi al-Marri (Sandro Girl) came third.
Haidan extended his lead in the Medium Tour after leading 13-year-old gelding Viahipi D’Auzay to victory. Little Lord Pezi 2, ridden by Khalid Mohamed al-Emadi, came second while Faleh Suwead al-Ajami completed the podium with Larko Denfer. The winners of the team event, ExxonMobil included Haidan (Viahipi D’Auzay), al-Qadi (Morocco) and al-Ajami (Steyburn). Team Al Fardan came second while Al Kass finished third.
