The upcoming third edition of the Qatar Balloon Festival will feature a spectacular and colourful display of over 50 hot air balloons from around the world.
Listed on the Qatar Events Calendar, the 10-day "fun-filled family event" is scheduled to take place from January 19 to 28 at Old Doha Port, external green area, behind the Grand Cruise Terminal.
"Gather your friends, family and loved ones to join the unforgettable spectacle of hot air balloons of a variety of shapes and sizes," the festival's website says. "Enjoy the music and entertainment, food, novelties and so much more!"
The website lists some of the reasons that make the Qatar Balloon Festival a "must-visit" event: Sunrise launches of over 50 balloons which would also offer tethered flights later in the day.
Nightglow (a unique sighting of illuminated balloons stacked next to each other, they will be glowing in the dark in perfect rhythm accompanied by the festival’s musical events from the main stage).
Entertainment is to be provided by an extensive lineup of singers, music bands/groups, dancers, magic show, DJ, violinist, mascots, jugglers.
A special arena has been designated for carnival games, team games, human football, football darts, VR games, electronic games, themed jumping houses, and slides. The festival will also have plenty of choices for food, at various kiosks and trucks spread across the venue.
