The rainy conditions that Qatar has been experiencing are expected to continue today, the Met department's forecast shows.
In its report on Thursday, the weather office said thundery rain is expected on Friday along with strong winds, while poor visibility is also likely at times. Thundershowers have been forecast in offshore areas, too, besides windy conditions and high seas.
The wind speed is likely to go up to 28 knots inshore and 25 knots offshore today, with the sea level rising to 8ft during thundery rain.
Visibility, meanwhile, may drop to 2km or less in some places.
The detailed report says it will be misty at first, and partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are likely along with rain that may be thundery at times. It will be cold by night.
Clouds and thundershowers are forecast in offshore areas as well.
The temperature is expected to range from 16-18C in Doha today.
On Wednesday, the Met department had said moderate to heavy rainfall was expected in most areas of the country from Thursday until Saturday, due to the deepening of a low-pressure system over the Arabian Peninsula.
The rain will be thundery at times, and strong winds are also expected during this period.
Rain of varying intensity was reported from Doha and other places yesterday, with thundery conditions prevailing at times.
