Italian National Cybersecurity Authority (ACN) revealed that the geopolitical tension caused by the war in Ukraine had significant echoes on cybersecurity through enormous campaigns at the international level.
It added that such campaigns target the critical infrastructure, financial systems and companies, pointing out that cyber attacks have dramatically increased 138 percent in 2022.
The attacks included phishing, malicious software and misinformation, ACN said, adding that it had monitored 12,947 cyber attacks in Italy in 2022, an increase of 138 percent compared to 5,435 attacks recorded in 2021.
