HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani held a phone call with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu. During the call, bilateral co-operation between the two countries was reviewed and developments in Afghanistan were discussed, in particular the decision to ban Afghan women from working in local and foreign NGOs until further notice, the suspension of girls' and women's education, and the encouragement of dialogue between political parties, in addition to developments in the situation in Syria and the occupied Palestinian territories.
The two sides condemned Israel's repeated incursions into the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque and urged the international community to take urgent action to stop Israel's systematic escalatory policy against the Palestinian people, their lands and Islamic and Christian sanctities. During the call, the Turkish FM congratulated Qatar on its success in organising the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
