QNB Stars League side Al Rayyan yesterday unveiled their new signing Japanese defender Shogo Taniguchi in the presence of club president Sheikh Ali bin Saud bin Ahmed al-Thani and coach Nicolas Cordova. The 31-year-old centre-back started in two matches during Japan’s World Cup campaign in Qatar, where they reached the last 16. At Rayyan, Taniguchi is replacing Palestine defender Yasser Hamad who is injured.
