The murals that adorn several buildings in Katara - Cultural Village are a treat for art lovers. The series of captivating murals that adorn several Katara buildings have been created by Qatari and international artists. One of the most recent was the 'Friends of Qatar and Cuba,' mural by Cuban artist Michel Lopez in Building 15 opposite Wisdom Square.
The artwork depicts a Qatari child and a Cuban child, with a football between them. Speaking at the mural's inauguration in early October, Katara general manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti had explained there are murals on Qatari heritage, and the environment. The murals project is is part of Katara's mission to extend the bridges of communication between peoples and make the Cultural Village an umbrella for creativity and innovators from all over the world.
