Qatar Camel Mzayen Club, which pertains to the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Tuesday launched its new smart application Mzayen, in addition to the e-link of this app with the Ministry of Municipality to digitalize all its services for the local and international camel owners.
Speaking at a press conference at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Hamad Jabir al- Athba, president of the Club, explained that the launch of the app is part of the Club's vision to develop all the procedures related to such a popular sport in the region and keep pace with the ongoing general development in the sports segment.
Further, it aims at improving and upgrading the quality of the services offered to the targeted category. The app is mainly concerned with the camel beauty contests and events held in the country and will offer its services also to the camel owners from other GCC countries as well as local camel owners when they participate in contests in other GCC countries.
All its services will be linked to those of the Ministry of Municipality, where the necessary certificates and paperwork for such issues will be easily accessible for the camel owners inside and outside Qatar.
Ali bin Sultan al-Humaidi, director of the technical issues affairs at the club, pointed out that the e-link with the Ministry of Municipality will ease all the procedures for the camel owners including the registration of the owners and the camels, submitting exit and entry permits for the camels, obtaining the necessary approvals, issuing health certificates, and up to the issuance of permits and printing them out. He stressed that the procedures will done according to the best standards and will follow the best practices in the field.
Hussain al-Yahri, deputy director of the livestock department at the Ministry of Municipality, stressed that the new e-link service in the app will enhance the validity and accuracy of the registered camels' data, which will be compared against the updated data of the camel owners at Qatar Camel Mzayen Club and the applicable standards and procedures at the Ministry of Municipality.
Rashid bin Nasser al-Hajiri, director of public relations and communication at the Club, said that the app will offer the fans and followers of the sport highly valued and interesting information, such as the latest news and updates of the related festivals and competitions in the region with photos and videos and other links. Besides, he said that it will act as a means of raising community and public awareness on the culture, folklore and heritage of such a popular sport and its long history in the region.
