Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed his country's rejection of the wrong policy of the US towards Beijing.
In a conference held today on China's international situation and foreign relations over the course of the current year, the Chinese foreign minister said that China strongly rejected the wrong US policy towards Beijing. Wang also called on the US side to change course, establish an objective and reasonable perception, pursue a positive and pragmatic policy towards China, and work to lay the foundations for the stable development of China-US relations.
On Chinese-Russian relations, Wang pointed out that this year, the two countries deepened good-neighbourly relations, friendship and cooperation, also the two sides made the comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination more mature and flexible.
On European countries, the Chinese minister added that his country has continued to seek friendship and cooperation with Europe, and will remain committed to the healthy development of relations between the two sides on the basis of mutual respect and equality.
Tensions between Washington and Beijing exacerbated during the administration of former US President Donald Trump, which escalated the trade war against China and prevented Chinese technology companies from doing business with American companies.
