Omani voters started to cast their ballots Sunday to elect their representatives in the municipal council for the third term.
The voting, which will continue until 7:00 pm local time, is carried out remotely using an application on smartphones, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
A total of 731,767 eligible voters will elect 126 members from 727 candidates, including 27 women, through the "Intakheb" app on smartphones.
Omani voters abroad cast their votes on Dec. 18.
