The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) organised a ceremony to honour committees and work teams which participated in hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim al-Thani led the event attended by a number of senior officials, as well as its representatives in the committees that took part in hosting the tournament.
Present were members of the Emergency Committee to ensure the import and flow of foodstuffs and supplies, the Logistics Support Task Force, the Field Monitoring Task Force, and the Food Security Operations Room Task Force, in addition to representatives of the authorities concerned.
The honouring ceremony sought to reiterate the committee and work team members’ active role in contributing to hosting the tournament and recognise their efforts to support the nation in ensuring the success of the World Cup at all levels.
During his speech on this occasion, HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry stressed the importance of the event, as it constituted a key occasion to celebrate the success of the national efforts during the 12-year journey leading up to hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
"Under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Qatar proved that success is not granted," he said while pointing to how effort, willpower, and determination make miracles.
HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim al-Thani thanked the members of the committees and work teams from the various authorities concerned for their unlimited efforts during the tournament - a feat that contributed to building a civilised legacy, which will ever be cherished in nations’ memories, and also ever remain a source of inspiration and pride for this generation and those to come.
The honouring ceremony included a presentation that shed light on the role of the Ministry’s committees and work teams during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, as well as their most prominent contributions to the success of the major global event.
