Former English star Geoff Hurst expressed his happiness at the success of French striker Kylian Mbappe for becoming the second player to score three goals (hat-trick) in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 final.
The final match took place at Lusail Stadium on Sunday, when Argentina beat France in a penalty shootout (4-2) after the two teams drew (2-2) in normal time and (3-3) in extra time.
Hurst scored the only hat-trick in World Cup history 56 years ago, when England beat Germany (4-2) after extra time at Wembley Stadium, in the 1966 World Cup final. Mbappe managed to score a hat-trick of his own during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 final to help his country equalise after being (0-2) down, and again then at (2-3), and force a penalty shootout, in which Argentina won.
