Qatar has won wide appreciation from visitors while lending the World Cup guests an amazing experience of hospitality, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported.
Many say that Qatar’s impeccable planning since winning the FIFA World Cup bid has achieved success and proved the Arab world’s ability to organise exceptional versions of global tournaments.
The fans, who condemned Western media propaganda, also hailed the World Cup stadiums and transportation facilities.
Greek fan Mark told Arrayah that the visit allowed him to get to know Arab and Islamic culture as well as experiencing direct contact with fans from different countries of the world.
“The people of Qatar are warm and cordial to visitors and guests during the tournament, helping to guide them to the various landmarks of the country while providing outstanding hospitality everywhere,” he said.
“The tournament has proven the ability of Qataris to host any major tournament.
I don’t rely on the media to form a point of view and what I saw during my stay here is wonderful,” said a fan of Team France. “In fact, everything is amazing.”
“What really surprised me was how large numbers of visitors could be accommodated in a small country without a sense of crowding or problems related to accommodation or food,” the fan added.
A fan of Team Argentina said she loved life in Qatar.
“We explored places like Souq Waqif, Msheireb Downtown Doha and Al Maha Island while enjoying the wonderful atmosphere on the seashore and seeing the towers of Lusail City at night,” she said.
Fellow fan Sophia expressed her happiness at learning about Arab and Islamic culture in Qatar.
She also tried Arab dress, wearing an abaya and burqa, and said that she would visit Doha again next winter.
Canadian Natalia said she is really impressed with Arab and Islamic culture, especially with Qatar's keenness to preserve heritage.
