His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met at Al Bayt Stadium Wednesday evening with President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron, and the accompanying delegation, who is visiting the country to attend part of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches. Macron congratulated the Amir on the good organisation of the tournament, wishing success to the teams qualified for the finals. The meeting touched on the strategic bilateral relations that link the two countries and ways of enhancing and promoting them, in addition to regional and international issues and developments of common concern.
Earlier upon arrival at Hamad International Airport, the French president and the accompanying delegation were welcomed by HE Minister of Transport Jassim bin Saif al-Sulaiti, HE Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar al-Baker, Qatar's Ambassador to France Sheikh Ali bin Jassim al-Thani and French Ambassador Jean-Baptiste Faivre.
