The Qatar Calendar House announced that residents of Qatar, professionals and astronomy enthusiasts, are set to view and monitor Geminids meteor shower this week. Dr Bashir Marzouk, astronomer at QCH, said the meteor shower will reach its peak on Wednesday evening and will last until sunrise on Thursday.
What distinguishes the Geminids meteor shower is that its monitoring requires only a place far from environmental and light pollution, and one will be able to monitor and see it with the naked eye, Dr Marzouk said.
He added that modern digital cameras can be used to capture the celestial drama.
