The Ukrainian Defense Forces said that the air force shot down ten drones belonging to the Russian forces over the Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions.
In a statement reported by the Ukrainian national news agency (Ukrinform) on Saturday, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the Russian forces attacked southern Ukraine with drones, and the Ukrainian air force managed last night to shoot down ten drones.
The statement added that the defense forces responded to Russian attacks near 13 settlements yesterday. It pointed out that the Russian forces launched five missile attacks and 20 air raids and opened fire using multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) more than 60 times.
The Russian forces are still launching missile strikes on Ukraine's energy system and sensitive infrastructure across the country, Ukrinform said.
Ukrainian missile and artillery forces also bombed four Russian command posts and five groups of personnel, ammunition, and military equipment.
After more than nine months since the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, hopes for an end to the confrontations between the two countries seem unfeasible in light of the divergence of positions between Moscow and Kyiv, and each party's adherence to its demands that it deems legitimate before sitting at the negotiating table.
