The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, represented by the Educational Guidance Department, held discussion sessions for educational mentors, entitled "Supervisory Skills and Methods", in light of the guideline for the educational mentor, based on its keenness to develop their supervisory and evaluation skills, and within the framework of the management's professional development plan.

During the discussion sessions, Director of the Educational Guidance Department Maryam Noman Al Emadi appreciated the significant role played by the educational counsellor in developing the performance of teachers which she said is not limited to class observation and making recommendations, but rather, it goes beyond that to providing coordinators and teachers with the necessary professional skills and competencies to perform their duties.

The department organised three sessions on the most important supervisory methods, and types of classroom visits, and the importance of diversifying the supervisory methods according to the situation and the need, in order to ensure the enhancement of teachers' skills.

The sessions also dealt with issues related to writing reports, motivating teachers, and raising the efficiency of the educational mentors, in order to enable them to lead work teams in schools, and models for developing performance. In this context, the constructivist theory and its applications in educational supervision were discussed, in addition to providing a full explanation of the Microsoft Teams system and its use in follow-up, supervision and management of meetings and professional learning communities, the components of the Qatar education system, and the most important tools of the educational leader to follow up on lesson plans, assessments, and students performance through the system.

The discussion sessions included interventions and discussions on the use of technology and various supervisory methods and models for effective educational guidance.
