Qatari film director and supervisor of the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, CEO of Katara Studios, Ahmed al-Baker, said the success of the opening ceremony of the tournament was the culmination of Qatar's efforts over 12 years in preparation for hosting the global event.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), al-Baker said the grand success of the opening ceremony was an apt response and vivid refutation to the skepticism and smear campaigns unleashed against the capabilities of Qatar and Arabs in general to organise this global event.
Al-Baker said the growing stature of Qatari and Arab culture is a result of the confidence of Qatar's leadership in its youth, in addition to the confidence of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy in the abilities of the Qatari innovative artists, as well as FIFA's support and the efforts by the Arab crews and cadres, along with the Qatari and foreign teams.
He indicated that this confidence was the best appreciation for Qatar's efforts and was a catalyst for the innovation.
