Qatar Charity’s (QC) In-kind Donations Project (Tayf) received more than half a tonne of various items and school supplies from Mövenpick Hotel West Bay Doha and Mövenpick Hotel Doha.
The donation is part of the hotel’s social responsibility towards the community and was allocated for Qatar Charity’s ‘Warm Hearts’ winter campaign, a QC statement said on Tuesday.
The donation comes within the framework of Mövenpick’s ‘Kilo of Kindness’ campaign, which aims to encourage the hotel’s visitors and employees to donate at least 1kg of toys, clothing, and school supplies to help to those in need.
Ali Ibrahem AlGreeb, director of the Resource Development Department at QC, thanked Mövenpick Hotel West Bay Doha and Mövenpick Hotel Doha for their donations, which will contribute to supporting QC's work for the local community, and help implement its community and humanitarian projects to benefit those with limited income within the county and across the globe.
He also emphasised that QC is keen to allow everyone, both individuals and organisations, to engage in charitable work and community service and therefore, establishes partnership and co-operation with those interested in charitable, voluntary, and humanitarian work.
“The management of Mövenpick Hotel West Bay Doha is proud of the great attention we pay to our social responsibility as a company and as an active member of the community,” said Ghada Sadek, general manager, Mövenpick Hotel West Bay Doha. “Over more than five years, we have established many partnerships with several charitable organisations, especially Qatar Charity, to promote the culture of giving and participation among the members of the community.”
"The ‘Kilo of Giving’ campaign is an annual activity held at Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts around the world, and aims to remind us that donating, giving and generosity bring joy to all,” said Sami Aawar, general manager at Mövenpick Hotel Doha. The hotel has been providing in-kind donations to QC since 2016, as part of its corporate social responsibility programme.
