HEC Paris in Qatar has completed its first five-day custom-designed women’s leadership development programme for a major energy industry player, to support female participants’ leadership development.
It equipped them to successfully navigate workplace opportunities, to sensitise their company to pertinent issues such as diversity, equity and inclusion, mental health, flexibility, and the prioritisation of career advancement, a statement said.
The interactive programme entitled ‘Stepping Into Opportunity’ was delivered to the inaugural cohort by an expert team led by associate professor Dr Shaheena Janjuha-Jivraj - an expert in innovation and workplace diversity and inclusion, supported by a faculty team which included Prof Anne-Laure Sellier, Prof Sihem Jouini, Prof Konrad Grabszewski, and Prof Anne-Valerie Corboz.
“This is yet another milestone in the development of our curriculum which constantly evolves to encompass all the demands of an ever-changing world and the new circular and digital economies,” said Dr Pablo Martin de Holan, dean of HEC Paris in Qatar.
“The programme demonstrates our leadership in impacting the businesses and communities we serve and enables corporate clients to live up to their growing sustainability and regulatory responsibilities and the region’s national vision which look to build knowledge-based and highly inclusive societies.”
The programme is designed around the latest HEC Paris research and knowledge in the field of women in leadership and contextualised for Qatar. Participants also heard from guest speakers Natalie Yacoubian, general manager and head of territory, BNP Paribas, who reflected on ‘Breaking the Glass Ceiling’ and Marie-Charlotte Alboussier, SVP of HSEQ at TotalEnergies.
