HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani holding talks with US permanent delegate to the UN, Susan Rice, in New York

HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani, who is also Chairman of the Arab Committee on Syria, held discussions with representatives of several countries to the UN on efforts being made by the Arab League to resolve the crisis in Syria within the framework of the Arab initiative.
Talks also dealt with the decision of the Arab Ministerial Council requesting the UN Security Council to adopt the Arab Initiative which aims to end violence, stop the bloodbath in Syria and restore security and stability there.
The Prime Minister met China’s, Russia’s and Morocco’s permanent representatives to the United Nations - Li Baodong, Vitaly Churkin, and Mohamed Loulichki, respectively.
The Premier also met at the seat of Qatar Mission to the UN in New York, the representatives of EU member-states to the UN Security Council including Portugal’s C.Morais, Germany’s Peter Wittig, Britain’s Mark Lyall Grants, France’s Gerard Araud, as well as US permanent delegate to the UN Susan Rice and the US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffrey Feltman.
