Meeza at Cisco Expo Qatar 2012
Meeza, the leading IT services and solutions provider in Qatar, has joined Cisco Expo Qatar 2012, the IT industry’s flagship technology event for business and technology decision-makers in the region, as the event’s managed services sponsor.
“Cisco is playing an important role in increasing our capability in providing networking services and solutions to our clients,” said Deputy CEO Ghada P el-Rassi.
As part of this process of transformation Meeza and Cisco worked closely together on Qatar’s ‘Research and Education Network’ that allows universities, researchers and students to connect on a 40Gbps ready fibre optic
network.
The Research and Education Network was built by Cisco and is managed by Meeza, which is the first Qatari company to be “Master Manager Service certified” by Cisco, having attained expertise in all phases of the Cisco lifecycle methodology.
Through the Research and Education Network, Meeza provides data centre and managed IT services to universities and research centres within Education City.
The successful deployment of the Research and Education Network has been a factor in supporting many of the world’s leading universities and companies to set up campuses and branches in Qatar.
“The Cisco-Meeza collaboration on the Research and Education Network is an excellent example of how advanced technology is moving Qatar towards a knowledge-based society and demonstrates Meeza’s proven ability to combine Cisco solutions with our services to create and deliver high-value managed service offerings based on specific requirements,” el-Rassi said.
El-Rassi said Cisco Expo Qatar 2012 is in perfect harmony with Meeza’s objectives.
“We are dedicated to continuous innovation and the introduction of technological architectures and shared best practices that will transform businesses and increase business productivity in Qatar. The Cisco Expo Qatar 2012 with the theme of ‘Innovate Together’ and an agenda covering cloud computing, collaboration and the role of technology in creating next generation cities, are in perfect alignment with our own priorities and practices.”
Cisco Expo Qatar 2012 was held in the National Convention Centre and attended by more than 500 technical and business decision-makers, who met to share knowledge and experience of the latest and most innovative megatrends in technology and IT.
