Reach Out To Asia (Rota) hosted an appreciation night for volunteers, staff and friends following the completion of its fourth gala dinner.
The gala dinner and charity auction, which took place at Katara on December 12, raised $13mn in the presence of Qatar Foundation chairperson HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, for Rota’s outreach programmes.
Speaking at the appreciation event, Rota board member Sheikha Dr Aisha bint Faleh al-Thani thanked all volunteers, staff members and supporters who worked hard to make the 2011 Rota gala dinner a success.
She also thanked staff members of QF, Office of HH Sheikha Moza, Qatar Museums Authority, Rota chairperson’s office, Emiri Diwan and Al Majed Jewellery.
A special mention was made about children with special needs, who contributed to the development of Al Koora Art Project which was one of the unique auction items, and their parents. Rota director Essa al-Mannai also thanked those present. The gala dinner was supported by gold sponsor Msheireb Properties, silver sponsor Qatar Petroleum, and bronze sponsor Qatar Vinyl Company.
Proceeds of the gala dinner will go directly to fund education initiatives in Asia and the Middle East.
