Indian schoolchildren presented a skit to mark the World Hindi Day celebrations held recently at the Indian Cultural Centre in Doha
Indian Ambassador Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa has said efforts are on at various levels to promote the studies of Hindi language both among the non-Hindi speaking sections in India and also among the other nationalities, both within India and outside.
Wadhwa said this at a meeting held at the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) to coincide with the World Hindi Day celebrations. World Hindi Day is celebrated on January 10 every year.
First Secretary at the Indian embassy, M R Qureshi, spoke about the objectives of World Hindi Day.
Deputy chief of mission Sanjiv Kohli, second secretary Anil Nautiyal, Indian Cultural Centre president K M Varghese, principals of Birla Public School, Ideal Indian School, Al Khor International School, and Doha Modern Indian School (DMIS) and a large number of teachers and students were also present.
Awards were distributed to the meritorious students in Hindi from different schools on the basis of their performance in the last annual examination of CBSE Board in
10th grade.
Indian schools in Doha presented different cultural programmes based on Hindi language on the occasion.
