Safeeran-e-Watan, a Pak community forum, observed the 4th death anniversary of slain former Pakistan prime minister Benazir Bhutto at a programme in Doha recently.
The event was presided over by Jan Mohammad Mahar, country manager Pakistan International Airlines.
Feroz Khan Afridi, Pushto poet and writer was the chief guest.
Addressing the guests, Malik Sarfraz, chairman of the forum, paid tributes to Benazir Bhutto. He recalled his meeting with her during her stay in Dubai and when she decided to leave for Pakistan.
He said that most of the people advised her not to leave since her life would be in danger but she opted to be among her
people.
Verses from the Qur’an were recited on the occasion.
Jan Mohammad Mahar, Feroz Khan Afridi, Chaudhary Mohammad Ajmal and Kabiruddin Khan also spoke.
Syed Amjad Hussain led the prayers. Sardar Ashiq Hussain, chief patron of Safeeran-e-Watan proposed a vote of thanks.
