HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and Mauritanian President Sidi Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz witness the signing of an agreement between Qatar and Mauritania in Nouakchott yesterday
Qatar and Mauritania signed a raft of agreements and memoranda of understanding with a view to further strengthening bilateral relations following a round of official talks chaired by  HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and Mauritanian President Sidi Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz at the Presidential Palace in Nouakchott yesterday.
The official talks were attended by the members of the official delegation accompanying the Emir and Mauritanian ministers and senior officials.
The two sides reviewed ties of co-operation and discussed a set of regional and international issues of mutual concern.
Later the Emir and the Mauritanian president witnessed the signing of the following agreements and  memoranda of understanding:
1.An agreement on legal co-operation.
2.An agreement of judicial co-operation.
3.An agreement on co-operation on Islamic affairs and Awqaf (endowments).
4.An agreement on cultural co-operation.
5.An  agreement on the use or recruitment of the Mauritanian labourers in Qatar.
6.An agreement on co-operation in sanitation field.
7.An agreement on co-operation on environment and sustainable development.
8.A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on tourism co-operation.
9. An MoU on co-operation in the mining sector.
10. An MoU on co-operation in agriculture and veterinary.
11.An Mou between Qatar Central Bank (QCB) and the Central Bank of Mauritania (BCM).
12. An MoU for establishment of hotel and real estate development in Nouakchott.
They also witnessed the signing of the first executive programme of the 2012-2013-2014 media accord.
Following the signing ceremonies, the Mauritanian president hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the Emir and the accompanying delegation.
Earlier on arrival in Nouakchott the Emir and the accompanying delegation were welcomed by Mauritanian President Sidi Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz.
Also on hand to welcome the Emir and the accompanying delegation were Mauritanian Prime Minister Moulaye Ould Mohamed Laghdaf and a number of ministers, ranking civil and military officials, ambassadors accredited to Mauritania and Qatar’s Ambassador to Mauritania Mohamed Kurdi Taleb al-Marri.
A red-carpet welcoming ceremony was accorded to the Emir.
