Teachers attending the orientation programme at Ideal Indian School
A three-day teachers’ orientation programme concluded at Ideal Indian School on Thursday.
The main objective was to keep the teachers abreast of the latest trends in teaching.
In his introductory address, principal Prof Dr Mohamed Aejaz spoke on “Redefining classrooms – Blending classic and modern technology in education”.
Resource person Rohini Bhat, a senior editor for Orient Blackswan and an experienced teacher, conducted the workshop for the English department.
Vidhyasanker, head of the Department of Science, spoke about how to manage continuous and comprehensive evaluation.
Dr Khurshid, head of the Department of English, gave a presentation on correct pronunciation.
Heads of various language departments discussed the problems faced in teaching languages and ways to solve them.
Adbul Nasar, head of the Department of Malayalam, spoke on environmental issues reflected in Malayalam poems.
Mathematics teachers Sreedevi P T and Sajid gave a presentation on Vedic mathematics.
Science teacher Senthil Vadivu spoke on “Effective learning strategies” and art and craft teacher Devika Vaikar on “How to explore creativity”.
Violet Justin, Aameena Aafreen, Zemina Sulfikkar and Anwar Sadath spoke at the valedictory session. Co-ordinator Padma Ramaswamy proposed a vote of thanks.
