Pan-NIT alumni at the launch of the new chapter in Qatar

Engineers who graduated from India’s National Institutes of Technology (NITs) have established an organisation of former students called  Pan-NIT Alumni in Qatar.
The alumni held its first get-together this week, where 30 members shared their background and journey to Qatar.
The National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are a group of higher education engineering institutions founded to promote regional diversity and multi-cultural understanding across India. Comprising 30 autonomous institutes, NITs are located in each major state/territory of India. On their inception decades ago, all NITs were originally referred to as Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs).
It is estimated that about  2,000 NITians work in the Middle East, out of which an estimated 200 are in Qatar. A similar Pan-NIT Alumni exists in UAE with over 800 members.
The Pan-NIT-Qatar Alumni aims to reach all NITians working in Qatar to expand its member base to 150 by next year-end, and to use the network for the benefits of its members, fellow NITians, students and the society at large.
