Officials from RasGas, Reach Out To Asia and the Al-Noor Institute for the Blind at a signing ceremony
RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) recently donated more than 200 Braille devices to help the blind in collaboration with the Al-Noor Institute and Reach Out To Asia (Rota).
In response to a real need for focused educational material for visually impaired children, the Al-Noor Institute has developed unique Braille devices to help people around the world. Over 200 students will now be able to continue and extend their studies with these specialised devices.
Speaking at a press conference to announce the donation, Yousef Fakhroo, head of media, publications and communications said: “I am proud and honoured to take part in this great initiative of Al-Noor Institute and Rota. RasGas is committed to the power of education and ensuring that students of all ages and abilities are provided with the appropriate educational material.”
RasGas is supporting the efforts of the students and teachers of Al-Noor Institute for the Blind by providing funds to cover the costs of the initiative.
Also speaking at the press conference was Dr Hayat Nader, director of the Al-Noor Institute, who said: “We thank RasGas for its continued contribution to our institute’s projects, and we are happy to find such enthusiastic support from one of Qatar’s major energy sector players.”
“On behalf of Reach Out To Asia, we are honoured to announce today a new partnership that will benefit a large number of children in Gaza Strip. Through this new partnership, RasGas supported Al Noor Institute to provide a number of educational means that will be delivered to the blind children while Rota team in collaboration with their partner in the Strip would ensure the safe delivery and distribution of all those tools,” added Nader
