The Bedaya Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development has launched its latest initiative, ‘Success Corner’, with the centre’s chairman, who is also the CEO of Qatar Development Bank, as its inaugural guest.
Abdulaziz bin Nasser al-Khalifa was the first guest of Success Corner, which aims to host inspiring entrepreneurial figures who have achieved success in various fields and to bring them closer to the community, as well as highlight their career breakthroughs, achievements, and contributions over the years for the community and the State of Qatar. The objective of the event is to identify the ways with which they lead their lives successfully to motivate and encourage upcoming local entrepreneurs to follow suit by listening to them and interacting with them during the programme.
During his speech, al-Khalifa reflected on the ups and downs of his career, his academic qualifications, and harped on the crucial need for education towards building society and contribute to the economic development of the country. He also stressed on the torchbearers of industrial growth – small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and emphasised their crucial role in realising the Qatar National Vision 2030.
Additionally, al-Khalifa highlighted the major initiatives taken by Bedaya Centre in supporting SMEs and contributing to the development of entrepreneurs’ ideas and translating them into reality, thanks to the fruitful co-operation with QDB, which not only aided them financially but also supported them in enhancing their growth expanse not only domestically but also globally.
Bedaya Centre general manager Reem al-Suwaidi said, “We are proud to have Abdulaziz al-Khalifa as our guest. With his inspirational personality and exemplary leadership role in both Qatar Development Bank and Bedaya Centre, he has contributed significantly to the advancement of both institutions. He also shared with the audience his professional and personal mantras for success, and interacted directly with the guests and audience during the first version of the Success Corner programme, which achieved the desired purpose of bringing to fore famous personalities and how they carved a niche for themselves and the institutes they are associated with.
With the success of the first edition, we are fully geared to bring such leading personalities and offer guests a platform to interact with them and learning life lessons from them to lead their lives successfully.”
