Queen Elizabeth II arrives at the Royal Holloway University in Egham, Surrey. The University of London college was awarded the Diamond Jubilee Professorship of Music by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, in recognition of its department of music’s high quality of research and teaching. The university was royally opened be Queen Victoria in 1886.
