The Social Development Center (NAMA), under the umbrella of the Qatar Foundation, announced the launch of "Rawasi" program to build and develop the capabilities of young people in creating initiatives and projects in social entrepreneurship and creating a distinguished generation of social entrepreneurs.
The six-workshop program will last until October 26 with the participation of 90 trainees, having important axes on enabling social entrepreneurs to establish training entrepreneurial programs to train young people and introduce them to the importance of social entrepreneurship and its effective role in knowledge of social problems.
The workshops highlight the most important possible ways to achieve tangible social change, help young people find innovative solutions to various social problems, establish projects to serve society without regard to profit from them, and direct all attention towards providing value to society and generating income its later period.
On this occasion, Nama Executive Director Saba Al-Fadala expressed pleasure to launch a new cycle of the Rawasi program for the development of social entrepreneurs, which comes in the framework of continuous efforts to highlight the advantages and objectives of social entrepreneurship for the individual and society, and to consolidate this developmental thought among young people.
She added that the goal goes beyond just preparing and empowering a generation of young social entrepreneurs, as it looks forward to making participants more aware of their role towards the homeland and society, developing their skills to explore community issues and identify its needs more closely, and arming them with knowledge and skills that enhance their creativity and innovate modern solutions that lay the foundations for positive change in their surrounding environment through projects that serve the community.
Al-Fadala reiterated that the program is a new step to achieve the vision of Nama Center, which is to qualify capable and active youth, move forward in investments in human capital and contribute to the preparation of creative generations capable of reaching innovative solutions to existing problems in society, which in turn leads to building a better and brighter future for all.
For her part, Acting Director of the Community Services at Nama Manar Al Jabri expressed pleaure to announce the launch of the Rawasi social entrepreneurs development program, which in turn confirms Nama's keenness to move forward towards the development of young people in the field of social entrepreneurship.
She explained that the Rawasi is a training program to build the capacities of young people in creating initiatives and projects in social entrepreneurship, targeting the training of both genders of young people to create social entrepreneurs through specialized training programs.
The Rawasi program is available to young Qataris and residents between 20 - 35 years old, provided that the participant has personal and leadership skills, a desire to learn and train, and the ability to adopt social initiatives or projects to address societal phenomena.
