Over 300 students have registered for the second term of the foundation programme of the Community College of Qatar (CCQ) as the college has closed the registration of the foundation level for the second term. The programme will commence on September 18, while the admission continues to be open for those wishing to join the college level programmes throughout the year subject to fulfilment of admission requirements.
Maryam Abdullah al-Ryami, admission and registration department manager at CCQ, stressed the college administration’s keenness to facilitate the admission process for new students from high school graduates, transfer students from other universities, cross registration students, visiting students, or students wishing to obtain a second university degree in a different specialisation.
Al-Ryami revealed that increase in the number of students joining the foundation programme indicates the importance of the academic programmes and specialisations offered by the college, thus meeting the needs of the evolving Qatari labour market. Al-Riyami pointed out that the demand for the academic programmes and specialisations offered by the college is increasing every year, due to the importance of these specialisations and the evolving needs of the local business environment as the college offers a variety of educational opportunities, including associate’s and bachelor’s degrees in both Arabic and English. Furthermore, as the primary focus of the college is academic excellence, it introduced hybrid learning and developed the flexible learning model through which CCQ aims to reach larger segments of Qatari society maintaining its record of providing stellar quality education and academic results.
Al-Riyami added: “ The Public Administration Programmes are among the most attractive for male and female students and offer associate’s and bachelor's degrees. This is in addition to the bachelor's programme in Cyber and Network Security, as well as the hybrid courses which witness a high increase in demand due to the flexibility that helps students manage their time without conflicting with their responsibilities.”
The number of applicants in the Associate of Business Administration has reached 205 students in both modes of delivery (classroom and hybrid learning), while the number of applicants in the Associate of Arts reached 396 students, the number of applicants in the Bachelor of Human Resource Management reached 60 and 65 in the Bachelor of Project Management.
Admission is still open for Qataris or those born to Qatari mothers who wish to continue their studies and obtain associate’s and bachelor’s degrees in the academic programmes offered by the college, throughout the year upon opening the registration, provided that applicants are holders of Qatari high school certificates or its equivalents.
