The Ministry of Defence has clarified that the thunder-like sound, heard over the southern parts of the country, was due to the continuous exercises carried out by the Amiri Air Force within Qatar's airspace.
The clarification was provided by the Directorate of Defence Communication at the ministry through the latter's official Twitter account on Tuesday.
According to reports, residents of some southern areas shared - on social media - that they had heard some loud noise.
