Leading Pakistani literary and cultural forum - Shaeqee Ne Fun - this week celebrated the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan with a special Jashn-e-Azadi event online.
Pakistan ambassador Syed Ahsan Raza Shah was the chief guest. Shaeqee Ne Fun chairman Mohammad Atiq presided over the event. The programme was hosted by Sanwal Abbasi, member of Shaeqee Ne Fun management. Nawaz M Akram, president, Shaeqee Ne Fun, welcomed the guests.

There were two special guests of honour from Pakistan: professor Fateh Mohammad Malik, an eminent scholar, who delivered a lecture on Pakistan's history, and Amjad Islam Amjad, a renowned writer and poet, who recited his poetry.
The programme was viewed live online by Pakistanis in many countries, including Qatar, Pakistan, US, Canada, UK, Malaysia and the Gulf region.
In his address, ambassador Shah lauded the contributions of Shaeqee Ne Fun and its chairman for promoting Pakistani culture and literature in Qatar. He also highlighted the poetic contributions of Amjad Islam Amjad and Fateh Mohammad Malik for his contributions as an educationist, scholar and author.
In his lecture, professor Malik praised the services of Shaeqee Ne Fun and spoke about the Pakistan movement and the leadership of national poet Dr Sir Allama Mohammad Iqbal and the Father of The Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Atiq thanked all the guests and participants. The organisers also included Shaeqee Ne Fun vice chairman Hamid Rasool, president Nawaz M Akram, general secretary Qamaruzzaman Bhatti and Daud Malik, co-ordinator in Pakistan.
