The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has reported, in its weekly Covid-19 report for the August 8-14 period, a daily average of 716 cases - 613 in the community and 103 among travellers.
This marked a continued decrease in Covid-19 cases over the previous weeks. The MoPH had recorded 787, 883 and 1,014 cases in the previous weeks, respectively.
Also, data available on the ministry’s website yesterday showed that 773 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, including 671 cases in the community and 102 among travellers.
Following are the highlights of the weekly report published by the ministry Monday for the August 8-14 period:

* Covid-19 cases
- Daily average cases in community: 613
- Daily average cases among travellers: 103
- Total number of current active cases: 5,659
- Total number of infected people since the start of the pandemic: 420,143

* Recoveries
- Daily average of recoveries for the last seven days: 796
- Total number of recoveries until now: 413,803

* Deaths
- Number of deaths in the last seven days: 0
- Total number of deaths until now: 681

* Vaccination
- Daily average Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the last seven days: 2,183
- Total number of booster doses administered to date: 1,843,848
- Total number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered since the start of vaccination campaign: 7,354,330

* Covid-19 testing
- Daily average number of tests for the last seven days: 23,316
- Total number of people tested to date: 3,808,068

* Hospital acute care
- Daily average of acute hospital admissions for the last seven days: 21
- Total number of people currently under acute hospital care: 102

* Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Daily average number of ICU admissions in the last seven days: 3
- Total number of people currently in ICU: 6
