The Fath Al Khair 5 cruise has arrived at the port of Cannes in France as part of its journey across the European capitals overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, with the participation of 18 sailors.
Qatar's Ambassador to France Sheikh Ali bin Jassim al-Thani welcomed the Fath Al Khair 5 cruise.
He hailed the measures taken by the city of Cannes to facilitate this cultural and heritage station, pointing out that this event reflects the depth and richness of the cooperation between Qatar and France.
Sheikh Ali considered that receiving the boat as an affirmation of the importance of culture and heritage to enhance the interaction and communication between peoples, noting the readiness of Qatar to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. He renewed his invitation to football fans to participate extensively in this global event.
The ambassador also noted the interest that the French people show in learning about other cultures and civilisations.
Receiving the Fath Al Khair 5 cruise comes within the framework of the cultural celebrations organised by the city of Cannes during the summer, which hosts crowds of French vacationers and foreign tourists. It also contributes to identifying the characteristics and features of the journey and seeing the authentic Qatari marine heritage, which was for a long time in the history of Qatar the focus of economic life.
On July 4, the Fath Al Khair 5 cruise sailed from the port of Grand Hyper Marin in the Maltese capital Valletta in a journey which includes Italy, France and Spain, and stopped at the Italian ports of Sicily, Naples, Capri, Rome, Portofino, La Spezia, Spiaggia di Porto Ferro and Genoa.
