Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q), a Qatar Foundation partner held a formal convocation ceremony to officially welcome more than 120 first-year students of the Class of 2026. Members of the CMU-Q senior administration, faculty, staff, students and alumni were present for the ceremony, which was also live streamed.
Michael Trick, dean of CMU-Q, shared the importance of community with the new students: “A CMU-Q education is about more than just classes: we are a learning community that encourages and supports students during their educational journey. Over the next four years, this community will be a crucial resource to you as you learn and grow.”
The convocation ceremony caps off a week of orientation activities for the new students, including introductions to faculty members, the academic resources at CMU-Q, and their fellow first-year students.
