Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (AMAN), one of the Qatar Foundation centres specialised in social work, has participated in the regional meeting of UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women that has been convened in the Lebanese capital Beirut.
Acting Director of the Protection Department at AMAN Amna al-Mahmoud said that the center's participation in this meeting comes within the plans and programs through which the center is committed to operationalising the societal, regional and international partnership between AMAN, the government authorities, civil society institutions and the public an private sectors.
During the meeting, the steps taken by the Arab states and members participating were reviewed pertaining to women's concerned issues, in addition to their efforts in promoting gender equality. They also discussed a wide range of work papers which included a plethora of themes, including the lessons learned from Covid-19 pandemic on combining gender equality concept into response plans, and on understanding the reality of care at the national level, identifying the necessary changes, in addition to presenting a proposed approach to understanding and analysing the reality of care at the national level to determine the priorities and necessary changes, and offer the findings in some Arab countries.
