Gulf Times Editor-in-Chief Faisal Abdulhameed al-Mudahka met with International Sports Press Association (AIPS) president Gianni Merlo on Tuesday in his office.
The meeting was in the context of the fourth edition of AIPS Sports Media Awards, to be held at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha on June 12 at 7.30pm.
Al-Mudahka said Gulf Times is supporting all local and international sport events and the AIPS awards event. The Editor-in-Chief also briefed Merlo about the newspaper’s exclusive sports coverage and publication plans for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2020.
AIPS is a professional organisation that represents the international sports media. AIPS awards are a celebration of sports media excellence, representing a new, inspiring horizon for sports journalists across the globe.
The first edition of the awards ceremony was held in Lausanne in January 2019. The second edition was in Budapest in February 2020. The third edition took place in an online live show from the castle of Vigevano, Italy, in March 2021.
