HE the Chairperson of the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC), Maryam bint Abdullah al-Attiyah, met with the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Afghanistan, Richard Bennett.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed aspects of co-operation to promote human rights in Afghanistan, and the role carried out by Qatar in evacuating and relocating thousands of people from the Afghan capital, Kabul; as well as the centres for evacuation and reception, the various aid provided to the refugees, placing the Afghan citizens and others in the short-stay accommodation in Doha. Also discussed was the integrated services provided to them, which include food, medical aid and logistical needs, to secure their temporary residence before moving to the countries that will receive them.
