His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Slovenian President Borut Pahor inaugurated on Monday the Islamic Center in Ljubljana.
His Highness the Amir was received by President of the Islamic Community in Slovenia Mufti Nevzet Poric upon his at the centre along with the Slovenian president.
The Amir and the Slovenian President unveiled the Friendship Chair, which includes a metal plate bearing the names of HH the Amir and the Slovenian president, in the centre's garden.
After that, the Amir toured the mosque, the cultural building, the library and the educational departments within the centre, which aims to contribute to the consolidation of the tolerant values of Islam among the Muslims of Slovenia, in addition to playing a role in spreading tolerance and moderation among all its attendees.
The inauguration and the tour were attended by members of the official delegation accompanying the Amir and a number of senior Slovenian officials.
