The Eid al-Fitr celebrations by Katara-The Cultural Village continued to draw huge crowds for the second day yesterday to enjoy various cultural, artistic and recreational activities. Along the Katara Corniche, Qatari and Arab teams presented folklore performances while highlighting the diversity of Arab culture and tradition, an official statement said. The groups included folk bands from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco and Syria apart from those from Qatar. “Katara's activities spread joy among the visitors and especially children, who received gifts. The screening of entertainment and educational films continued at Thuraya Planetarium Dome in Building 41 in Katara. The Thuraya Planetarium presents a series of entertainment and educational films throughout the days of Eid al-Fitr with three shows per day. Katara Beach receives visitors from Gate 3 from 9am to 11pm. At Gate 4 and 5, water sports and swimming are held from 2pm to 11pm. Steps have been taken to distribute various events throughout Katara while following an appropriate timetable and avoiding overcrowding in order to help visitors enjoy the activities. The authorities are working to present a distinctive cultural and festive tourism scene in line with the vision of Katara.
