Birla Public School, in connection with its 18th Founders’ Day celebrations, showcased a giant portrait of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, crafted with white and maroon satin fabrics.
A team of 23 students from grades VI – VIII participated in the preparation of the artwork with the guidance of teachers Regint Varghese, Baiju Joseph, and Sreejith C K. The 10m x 10m portrait was created on the school ground. It took five hours for the students to complete the task.
This initiative named 'The Maroon Legacy' was made to inculcate a sense of patriotism among students and show respect to Qatar. “It’s a proud moment for our school to see our children engaged fruitfully in such a creative activity," said Rajesh Pillai, vice-principal (co-scholastic).
