Qatar Charity (QC), with the support of the students of Qatar Academy Doha (QAD), distributed food packages to 550 low-income families in Qatar, as part of the former’s ‘Ramadan of Hope’ drive.
The initiative, which delivered 1,200 food packages to the families, comes in support of the Ramadan drive to contribute to meeting the needs of those with limited income during the blessed month.
QAD students, along with QC’s staff and volunteers, took part in distributing the food packages to the families. QAD implements this project annually during Ramadan to encourage its students to voluntarily participate in community service, and carry out humanitarian and charitable work.
QC has urged philanthropists in Qatar to continue their support for the ‘Ramadan of Hope’ campaign, which aims to benefit nearly one million people in Qatar, at a cost of approximately QR100mn.
QC’s Ramadan projects include Iftar meals for workers, distributing vouchers to low-income families and orphans, and delivering assistance to persons in debt through the ‘Alaqraboon’ initiative.
Eid gifts for children from low-income families, and Ramadan gift, in addition to many awareness-raising and cultural programs and voluntary initiatives are also part of the projects.
