Qatar Duty Free (QDF), the official Partner of the popular Commercial Bank Qatar Masters 2022, is thrilled to participate at this year’s golf tournament which is being played from March 24 to March 27. The highly anticipated event has returned to the Doha Golf Club after having been held at the Education City Golf Club for two consecutive years.
The tournament, which celebrates its silver jubilee this year, is taking place as a part of the DP World Tour and will feature nearly 140 top-ranked golfers, including Denmark’s Mikkel Mathiesen, as well as two of Qatar’s most promising players - Saleh al-Kaabi and Ali al-Shahrani, who will be vying for the Mother of Pearl Trophy.
QDF will also continue its long-standing Hole-in-One sponsorship rewarding the golfer who hits a Hole-in-one on the third hole with a USD $155,000 voucher to be redeemed at Qatar Duty Free. Throughout the 11 years of the Hole-in-One competition, only two lucky players have claimed this grand prize, the most recent winner being Jake McLeod of Australia in 2019.
Qatar Duty Free Vice-President, Thabet Musleh, said: “Qatar Duty Free has sponsored the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, one of the most prominent sporting events in Qatar, since 2009 and is thrilled to continue its partnership of 14 years with the Qatar Golf Association.”
Musleh added: “We are delighted to welcome the world’s golfing elites to Doha, now a global sports destination, to compete in the tournament, which is a build-up to many more prominent sporting events this year. We wish all the players an enjoyable tournament, and look forward to taking part in this world-class championship.”
Last month, QDF also sponsored the annual Qatar ExxonMobil Open and the Qatar TotalEnergies Open 2022 tennis tournaments, regarded as the cornerstone amongst Qatar’s sporting events.
