Nepalese Minister of Labour, Employment, and Social Security Krishna Kumar has said Qatar was able to achieve a qualitative leap in developing legislation, laws, and regulations related to the labour market, which are in line with the leading labour laws in various countries of the world.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), he pointed out that the priority of the Nepalese Labour Ministry is to increase the workforce in the domestic and hospitality services sector in Qatar, noting that a training centre will be opened in Nepal to qualify domestic workers before they enter the Qatari market.
He said there is an agreement to reopen the recruitment of Nepalese domestic workers, pointing out that are intensive procedures under way at the Qatari Ministry of Labour.
He also said the Nepalese government is keen to strengthen co-operation with Qatar for increasing Nepalese labour force in the Qatari market. He also noted that there is continuous co-ordination with the authorities concerned in Qatar to facilitate procedures for the recruitment of Nepalese workers. He said Qatar's preparations to host the FIFA World Cup 2022 are impressive, both in terms of stadiums and infrastructure, noting that the Nepalese labour contributed towards it, which is a source of pride for Nepal.
