Flat White Specialty Coffee hosted a coffee cupping event on Tuesday in collaboration with its sister company Honoroast specialty coffee roastery, and the embassies of Costa Rica, El Salvador and Dominican Republic in Qatar.
The event, attended by ambassadors Mariano Segura (Costa Rica), Georges Bahsa Hazim (Dominican Republic), and Milton Alcides Magana Herrera (El Salvador), enabled Flat White and Honoroast to strengthen co-operation and facilitate direct trade with the farms.

Under the theme "Taste of Central America and The Caribbean," several roasteries in Qatar were invited to the event to taste different varieties of coffee from Costa Rica, El Salvador and Dominican Republic. The countries’ coffee beans were roasted and prepared by Honoroast.
Coffee Cupping is a tasting method often practised by coffee producers and buyers to observe and evaluate the quality of coffee, which is scored based on its sweetness, acidity, mouthfeel and after-taste.
By bringing together coffee beans from Central America and The Caribbean with roasteries in Qatar, the event adds to Flat White’s efforts and commitment to form a stronger coffee community in Qatar and work closely with other roasteries in order to build mutual trust relationships with the farms that will benefit the Qatari market.
Nasser al-Naemi, co-founder of Flat White Specialty Coffee, said: "The event represented a great opportunity for coffee lovers to interact and network. It also allowed them to discover different coffee taste profiles as Flat White is always bound to present only high-quality coffee to its community."
Flat White Specialty Coffee is the first, third-wave coffee shop in Qatar. It was founded by al-Naemi and Maryam al-Bader in 2016 out of the passion to improve the quality of coffee in Qatar and the region, as well as to encourage coffee lovers to pursue a better cup of coffee.
Flat White currently operates five branches in Qatar to-date - at The Pearl-Qatar, Tawar Mall, Education City-Qatar Foundation, Gate Mall and Iconic 2022 building.
