After a year of exciting openings for Dani García and the success he has reaped since the inauguration of BiBo in Doha, the chef now brings to the capital of Qatar another of his most recognised proposals: Lobito de Mar.
"Thus, the process of expansion and growth of the Dani García Group continues with the aim of promoting the Spanish brand cuisine around the world," a press statement notes.
Lobito de Mar, an eclectic beach seafood lively tapas restaurant, located in the luxurious gardens of the island of Marsa Malaz Kempinski, the Pearl-Doha, is set to open its doors to guests on March 17 for delicious Mediterranean and Spanish cuisine. "The restaurant will be establishing new standards in the seafood and tapas gastronomy, offering fresh dishes with an authentic taste of the sea," the statement points out.
Beautiful interiors with phenomenal outdoor unique views, overlooking Qanat Quartier and the Arabian Gulf, Lobito de Mar is a two-level restaurant that will be welcoming guests for both lunch and dinner and extending into a lounge vibe after specific hours of the night. With inside and outside dining on the terraces, the restaurant will be the perfect spot for all seafood enthusiasts, wishing to dine in the most secluded spot surrounded by clear blue waters, with an exclusive decoration and flavours that will transport them directly to the sea.
The dock just in front of Lobito will allow guests to arrive with their private boats and even use The Pearl taxi boat service managed by Ronautica, Qatar’s specialised marina operator.
Vibrant and infused with marine tones and textures, aquatic iconography and maritime references, the restaurant embodies a sense of contemporary sophistication as a reflection of the restaurant’s seafood-based menu. The ground floor will be the main dining area, dominated by cool bespoke elements and shapes that further reinforce the seascape theme.
Heading up to the first floor, guests will feel as if they are inside a cruise boat enhanced with mysterious wooden staircases and a touch of warm burgundy. Guests experience the immediate transition between the ground floor dining area, and the first floor. After dinner time, the first floor will be transformed into a lounge with Lobito’s own resident Dj spinning the decks, offering a warm ambiance, and bolstering typical Spanish vibes.
Guests can book their private dining area for a more exclusive experience. Each part of the restaurant has been carefully designed to transport guests to the beautiful coastline of Marbella, diving into flavours of the sea, without even leaving the city, through dominating blue, white, burgundy and green colours.
Chef Dani Garcia said, “My aim is to bring together dishes that my gastronomic memory has accumulated during my travels in and out of Spain. This restaurant is created to enjoy traditional Andalusian gastronomy inspired by my childhood and the Costa del Sol. I hope that all our diners in Doha will once again enjoy with Lobito de Mar our unique Spanish cuisine with our own personalised international touch.”
Some of the exciting, featured dishes on Doha’s menu are the tuna porterhouse carpaccio, dressed avocado and crispy baby squids, Lobito prawn cocktail, grilled wagyu paella and more.
Lobito de Mar will be getting ready to take guests on a unique Spanish seafood culinary voyage with 3-star Michelin chef Dani Garcia, starting on March 17 from 7pm until 11.30pm, for dinner, and nighttime lounge vibes for the time being. Lobito will also be open throughout the entire holy month of Ramadan for a special Iftar menu. During May, the restaurant will start operating for both lunch and dinner.
