The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (AMAN), one of the centres of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, participated in the 33rd virtual conference of the International Organisation for Empowerment of Women and Capacity Building under the title "the reality of the Arab child between peace and conflict".
The conference discussed the reality of the Arab child in light of conflicts, ways to limit violations against children during wars and crises, and the role of civil society organisations in this regard, in addition to reviewing regional experiences in the field of protection and rehabilitation for children, and evaluating relevant international laws and legislation.
Acting director of the Rehabilitation Department at Aman Center Sabeeka al-Nasr presented a working paper on ways to protect and rehabilitate children from violence, and the nature of programmes that are developed to deal with children exposed to violence, in addition to clarifying the role of the centre in protecting and rehabilitating the targeted groups of victims of violence, women and children, and victims of family breakdown.
AMAN is a member of the advisory board of the London-based International Organisation for Empowerment of Women and Capacity Building, which has a regional headquarters in Kuwait and aims to cope with the Arab and regional developments related to supporting women, children and family issues.(QNA)
